How to Prepare for a High-Dose Psilocybin Journey
A Guide to Entering with Intention, Trust, and Care
"This isn’t an escape. It’s a return; to presence, clarity, and self.”
1. Set a Clear Intention
Psilocybin is not a quick fix. It’s a tool. A teacher. A mirror. Setting an intention is your way of opening the door inward. Ask yourself:
- What am I seeking to understand or release?
- What do I want to connect to more deeply?
- Is there something I’m ready to let go of?
“The medicine responds to sincerity, not perfection.”
Your intention doesn’t need to be poetic.Even “I’m open to what I need to see.” is powerful.
2. Prepare Your Body
A calm, nourished body can better receive and move with the experience. In the 2–3 days before your journey:
- Eat light, natural meals
- Stay hydrated
- Reduce caffeine and avoid alcohol
- Rest and avoid overstimulation
💡 Tip: Avoid large social gatherings or screens the day before.
3. Calm the Mind
You don’t need a perfectly quiet mind. But creating some internal spaciousness helps:
- Light journaling or meditation
- Breathwork or slow yoga
- Unplugging from screens
- Talking to your facilitator if anything feels unclear
“Trust will carry you farther than control.”
4. Trust the Setting and the Guide
Where and with whom you journey deeply affects the experience. At VistaPlus, we prioritize:
- A grounded, compassionate container
- Calm, natural settings
- Experienced facilitators who offer presence, not pressure
- Complete confidentiality
“You don’t need to manage the journey, just let it unfold.”
5. Bring Supportive Items
Consider bringing:
- A small natural object (stone, feather, crystal)
- A meaningful photo or item
- A scarf or eye mask
- Comfortable clothes with layers
- Journal (for before/after, not during)
- Avoid phones, headphones, and anything that pulls you into performance or distraction.
6. Let Go of Expectations
Each journey is unique. Some are soft and beautiful. Others are emotional, humbling, or hard. All are valid.
“The more you surrender, the more you receive.”
Enter with openness. The psilocybin will show you what’s ready to be seen.
7. Plan for Integration Before You Begin
After your journey, you’ll need space to rest and reflect. We recommend:
- At least one full day off
- Light food, no big decisions
- Time in nature, art, or gentle movement
- Journaling and support sessions for integration
💡 Pro tip: Don’t rush to “explain” the experience. Let it land in your body first.
